Are you looking for work? Then contact the UWV Werkbedrijf. The UWV Werkbedrijf has all job vacancies listed in computers and folders. Many vacancies are also listed on their website.

The UWV Werkbedrijf is an organisation available for all those looking for work; they will help you free of charge.

Do you not have a paid job and a low income?  Then check whether you are entitled to any payments from the council.  They will make sure you are not below the minimum social income.  Various regulations are in place to ensure this happens.  Like (additional) benefits for people without income and special contributions for special expenses.  Have you been on a low income for a long period of time?  Then you may be entitled to long term benefits.  Ask the council’s Sociale Zaken which amounts may be applicable to you.

Do you need social security?  Then call the UWV Werkbedrijf and make an appointment to register.  The UWV Werkbedrijf will make sure you apply for this from the right authority.  This is usually the UWV or Sociale Zaken.

Are you receiving unemployment benefits?  Then you are obliged to apply for jobs. Are you looking after someone in your direct vicinity or are you doing voluntary work?  Then ask the UWV whether you can be exempted from this obligation.

Do you have any questions regarding your social security from the UWV or Sociale Zaken?  Then call your contact person at your social security authority.  You will find the right name and telephone number on the letters you receive regarding your social security.  You can also contact the Bijstandsbond for help and advice.

Are you 65 years old or above and do you only receive social security via the Old Age Pension?  You may be entitled to additional contributions.  You can check this with the council’s Sociale Zaken.  You can also be considered for an extra payment if you only have a small supplementary pension alongside the Old Age Pension.
